HOW DO YOU TREAT YOUR CHICKEN?

How many of you leave your chicken on the bench to defrost or have seen your mothers do it? This is WRONG!!! Bacteria such as salmonella and e-coli are likely to grow to a dangerous level if you leave chicken exposed to a warm temperature for a long time. If not cooked properly, you guys may get food poisoning!

THE RIGHT WAY TO DEFROST.

If it is frozen solid- the best way to defrost is to remove the chicken or fish from the freezer and put it in the refrigerating section (the lower compartment). It will defrost overnight.

If you want to defrost chicken on the bench, make sure the chicken is placed in VERY COLD WATER. However, water has to be changed every 30 minutes until defrosted completely.

Fastest way – put in the microwave and push the defrost button.

(Meat/chicken/fish defrosted in microwave and in cold water should not be frozen again. It has to be cooked immediately)

SAME RULES APPLY TO ANY MEAT OR FISH YOU NEED TO DEFROST.

yea shuhay..poultry is the most bacteria prone food we eat and as u know..time and temperature are two factors related to bacterial growth..keeping raw chicken in warm water would be like providing a nest for bacterial growth dho!!
if we do get sick after a meal...we may not think it was becox of the way mamma defrosted the chicken..probably blam it on some allergy........so yea..this is a dangerous thing our mammas do...

hmm....jst wondewring. is it necessary to remove every drop of blood frm the chiken before cookin ?

when u r cooking u need to wash off as much blood as possible....if ur using chicken that u hav purchased in the packets, the blood has already been washed off so u dont need to worry about it...the most important thing u hav to keep in mind when cooking poultry is, it has to be cooked well..do not eat any poultry if the flesh is still pink after cooking..

Introduction

A few years ago, I jumped in the professional culinary career. Since then I have been learning about all the exciting stuff about food, trying varieties of tastes and getting hands-on experience preparing it.

It is not only my culinary world inspired me to create this blog but a lot of people around me who love food…. some of them, to a dangerous level. In addition, one of my strongest beliefs is that no occasion or celebration is complete without food.

This blog is not about teaching you guys how to cook, because it is too big a task for me. My blog is not entirely about cooking but about food in general. Its about food and its relation to different aspects of our life such as , family, friends, humour, health, romance, sex, ...etc. Additionally i will include tips to help you not burn down your kitchen and a selection of recipes that you guys will absolutely loooove!
